Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management, working directly with engineering teams, and/or experience in relevant work, fields, or related functions
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Excellent customer intuition; demonstrated success in identifying, prioritizing and delivering product capabilities to delight customers
- Strong data analysis skills; the ability to run data analysis and synthesize data to make on-point business decisions
- Bonus points for a Certified ScrumMaster Certification
- You have the capacity to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines
- You have excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with an ability to influence at executive level
- You have a proven track record of earning trust with stakeholders who may possess disparate working styles
- You take pride in the quality and durability of your work
What the job involves
- Tecovas is looking for a Technical Project Manager to oversee our projects, their management and respective communication throughout the organization.
- Reporting directly to the Director of Program Management, you will maintain timely delivery of initiatives, prioritization and timeline management.
- You must love working across a range of technical disciplines and bring a friendly attitude to the role!
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define project goals, requirements, and strategies
- Document project requirements, user stories, and test plans clearly and comprehensively
- Communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders on project status, progress, risks, and changes in scope
- Follow a defined project management methodology to ensure that project steps and resources are well-planned and executed
- Facilitate daily standup meetings, sprint planning meetings, and backlog grooming sessions for assigned technology teams
- Own and manage sprint planning in project management software, including incorporating stakeholder prioritization
- Partner with engineering team on project estimates and prioritization
- Balance the ability to work independently and drive projects forward with the awareness to seek guidance or escalate issues when needed
- Resolve conflicts in a timely manner and escalate to senior management when appropriate
Our take
Cowboy boots are timeless - an icon of American fashion that has endured through the ages. But Tecovas aims to bring them into the 21st Century with an online retail model that doesn’t skimp on quality.
Its boots are traditionally made at a veteran boot factory on Léon, Mexico with over 200 steps in the process, but Tecovas’s straight-to-consumer model allows the company to bypass middle-party retailers and knock nearly $100 off the average price points of their boots.
It’s the first company to offer this sort of model for this product, and has upended a billion-dollar industry in doing so. Its initial success has helped it to open 13 physical stores in Texas, the state with the biggest market for cowboy boots. But over 70% of Tecovas’s sales come from other states, allowing the company to essentially create new markets where other brands that only operated in brick-and-mortar stores are unable to compete.
