Who you are
- Your ability to navigate complexity, manage stakeholders, and deliver at scale will ensure our customers are set up for long-term success from day one
- The ability to blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, crafting a long-term onboarding roadmap while making real-time improvements that scale
- Experience leading cross-functional programs, aligning diverse teams behind shared onboarding goals and driving accountability at every stage
- A customer-first perspective, always advocating for their experience and using their feedback to inform better design, delivery, and outcomes
- A deep understanding of onboarding process design, paired with the foresight to introduce tooling and automation that increase efficiency and reduce friction
- Your comfort with data as both a compass and a catalyst, defining success metrics, sharing insights with senior stakeholders, and influencing product and GTM strategy
What the job involves
- This role is an individual contributor role
- As the Customer Onboarding Director, you will lead the strategy, design, and execution of a world-class onboarding and launch experience for new customers, ensuring they achieve value quickly and consistently at scale
- Sitting at the critical intersection of sales, customer success, product, and engineering, you will own the end-to-end onboarding journey building reliable, efficient, and repeatable processes that accelerate adoption and deliver measurable business impact
- You will drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance time-to-value, streamline operations, and support high-volume growth
- With a strong foundation in operational excellence, technical fluency, and program leadership, you will continuously optimize onboarding frameworks to meet evolving customer and business needs
- Taking full ownership of onboarding strategy, where you can shape scalable frameworks that deliver fast, meaningful value to customers from day one
- Cross-functional collaboration, bringing Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering together to deliver seamless customer launches
- Tackling operational and delivery challenges with a structured, solutions-oriented mindset, especially when navigating high-value or complex customer engagements
- Leveraging data and metrics not just to measure success, but to uncover insights, influence stakeholders, and continuously evolve the onboarding experience
- Designing onboarding journeys that feel intentional, efficient, and customer-centric where every touchpoint reinforces trust and drives long-term adoption
Our take
The non-cash rewards industry is worth $300 billion, yet hasn't seen much innovation. Incumbents focus on physical gift cards, and a lot of the work is done on spreadsheets and outdated systems.
Runa (rebranded from WeGift) has built a platform that offers API access for businesses to automate sending digital rewards.
There are clear similarities to Stripe here: they revolutionised payments to businesses and are now worth $20 billion. Runa is providing quick integrations for developers and simple design, just like Stripe, but do it such that businesses can 'pay' their customers.
Runa had a strong year in 2023, diversifying its customer base and bringing to the market more than 1500 payout types. It is available in over 40 countries and 25 currencies, indicating a massive leap forward for the platform.
