Role
Who you are
- You’ve worked in fast-paced consumer tech scale-ups or similar environments and know how to deliver impactful insights while navigating complexity and change
- You’re a hands-on analyst who writes clean, efficient SQL daily and is comfortable building dashboards end-to-end without third-party BI tools
- You’ve modeled data for subscription businesses - activations, churn/retention cohorts, and ARR/MRR. You’re comfortable with payments and subscription nuances (refunds, chargebacks, proration, taxes, failed renewals) and their impact on metrics
- You can translate ambiguous questions into precise metrics and SQL, and you push back/clarify when a request won’t answer the real business need
- You’ve supported ad-hoc data requests at pace and you’re metrics-driven but pragmatic - quick scrapes/one-offs when needed, productionized models when they prove their value
- You build with reliability in mind - you add tests, alerts, and documentation so dashboards don’t break the night before a board meeting
Desirable
- Warehouse admin/perf tuning experience (Postgres/BigQuery/Snowflake) and cost control
- Security/privacy awareness
- Familiarity with at least 1 of these: - RevOps/marketing analytics (attribution caveats, CAC/LTV diagnostics) - Supply-chain/ops analytics (inventory turns, lead times, failure/return rates) - Finance-leaning analytics (ARR/MRR waterfalls, revenue recognition concepts) - Product/web analytics (event schema design, funnels & retention, instrumentation basics, Amplitude/GA4)
- ETL/ELT + orchestration exposure (e.g., dbt, Airflow) for when we formalise pipelines later
What the job involves
- Maintain and improve existing BI dashboards & build new ones We’ve built several in-house, SQL-based dashboards that serve core needs. They’re fit for purpose today, but they need love: faster queries, clearer documentation, better reliability, and basic tests/monitoring. You’ll own them end-to-end, keeping definitions current as the business evolves and ensuring they remain our single source of truth, aligning the underlying product database with our other sources Current examples: ARR reporting, Cash reporting, Growth targeting Upcoming example: a daily view of new users, marketing spend, and CAC by channel for the marketing team to guide acquisition strategy
- Support ad-hoc data requests Partner with our Strategy and Ops lead and stakeholders across the business to triage, clarify, and deliver one-off analyses with well-labelled, reproducible SQL queries Recent examples: What’s the LTV of our US users by state? What was the impact of introducing HSA/FSA payments in the US?
- Maintain our data warehouse Our database is based in GCP, and it has been built up gradually over the past 3 years. It wasn’t necessarily built with BI in mind, and some legacy parts may need to be updated or deprecated. This means you will need to spend some time cleaning this up after you join and actively maintain it later down the line

(Co-Founder)Luke studied Law at the University of Cambridge and went on to practice as a corporate lawyer at Linklaters in London and Frankfurt. After pivoting to tech, Luke spent 2 years as a PM building LegalTech software products for 8 of the world’s 10 largest banks, creation to adoption in 18 months. Soon after Luke joined the Moneybox Product team where he worked with Harry.
