Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Electrical Engineering to manage our electrical engineering design efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineering license preferred
- 8+ years of experience in data center engineering
- Proven track record of successfully completing data center design projects
- Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, such as Substations, Emergency Generators, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), Lithium Ion Battery Plants and Fire Alarm
- Be familiar with Emergency Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems with the ability to develop controls sequences and monitoring protocols
- Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar) are a plus
What the job involves
- This individual will be responsible for overseeing the electrical design aspects of our data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability
- Lead and manage electrical engineering initiatives for our data centers
- Oversee the design of electrical systems for our new data center facilities
- Develop and implement electrical engineering standards, processes, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and project management to ensure complete and cohesive coordination of our electrical data center infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Collaborate on budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects
- Assist with identifying areas for improvement on processes and procedures of electrical design and implementation of corrective actions
- Work closely with 3rd party consultants and vendors to ensure compliance with Basis of Design and Company Standards
- Review Design Drawings, Specifications and Shop Drawings submitted for owner’s review
- Actively participate in a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team
