Who you are
- Previous Experience: Experience in tele-sales, business development, or outbound prospecting is a plus, though not required
- Language skills: Fluency in English & German is required
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage potential customers and articulate value propositions

What the job involves
- As a Business Development Representative for the DACH region, you will play a critical part in driving the company’s growth by generating and nurturing sales leads for our unified, cloud-based platform focused on Human Risk Management and comprehensive email security
- The Mimecast product suite protects organizations against phishing, ransomware, and impersonation while providing data archiving, continuity, and employee training to reduce insider threats
- As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, responsible for high-volume outreach to qualify leads and create new business opportunities
- You will work closely with Marketing, Channel, and Sales teams, as well as reseller partners, to uncover opportunities and fuel our sales pipeline
- As a BDR, your primary goal is to create opportunities and drive pipeline growth through high-volume outreach and relationship building. Specific responsibilities include:
- Outbound Prospecting: Conduct cold calls and send outbound emails to identify and qualify potential leads
- Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential business opportunities through strategic outreach, through cold calling but also through email campaigns, and social media engagement
- Lead Qualification: Follow-up on marketing-generated leads to assess fit and potential for Mimecast products
- Partner Collaboration: Work with reseller partners to identify and generate joint opportunities
- Target Account Profiling: Research and profile target accounts to identify key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential pain points
- Pitching: Articulate Mimecast’s value proposition in a clear and compelling way, secure meetings, and handoff to the wider sales team
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and ensure accurate tracking of all activities, interactions, and prospect details in the CRM system
- Prospect Engagement: Conduct initial needs analysis to understand prospect requirements, pain points, and business challenges, ensuring alignment with the company’s solutions
- Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives, marketing teams, and reseller partners to ensure seamless transition of qualified leads, alignment on strategic initiatives, and joint opportunity generation
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position the company’s solutions and refine outreach strategies
- Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified meetings with the appropriate sales representatives or Account Executives (AEs) to progress opportunities
- Continuous Learning: Attend training sessions, stay updated on product developments, and refine skills to enhance prospecting effectiveness
