Who you are
- 5+ years’ commercial sales experience managing large retail accounts, ideally within FMCG, toys, gifts, or consumer electronics
- Proven track record in B2B sales with a strong commercial mindset
- Highly data-driven with a strong analytical approach to decision-making
- Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills
- Able to balance strategic, big-picture initiatives with day-to-day execution
- Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail
- Collaborative and personable, with the ability to build lasting relationships

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a B2B Lead, who will be responsible for maximising opportunities with our retailers and B2B partners to get our incredible Yoto products to customers through targeted and strategic relationship development
- It’s a really exciting time to join Yoto - we're moving fast, and there's a lot to achieve
- Having primarily grown through direct-to-consumer channels, we are now looking to expand our B2B offering (and there are no shortage of opportunities to do so!)
- We are looking for someone to lead our retail and B2B growth in UK&I, and no two days will be the same
- You will be responsible for maximising opportunities with our retailers and B2B partners to get our incredible Yoto products to customers through targeted and strategic relationship development
- Own and execute the B2B commercial strategy across retail, education, wholesale, and B2B platforms in the UK & Ireland
- Identify, develop, and execute new business opportunities across key accounts, mid-tier partners, educational institutions, and independents
- Act as the lead commercial contact for B2B platforms and strategic partners across the territory
- Drive sustainable growth across key accounts through optimisation of:
- Pricing & promotional strategy
- Product range and distribution
- Merchandising (online and in-store)
- Retail marketing and partner support initiatives
- Lead key account forecasting, working closely with the Country Manager to support retail P&L planning and performance
- Report on and assess sales performance vs. budgets on a weekly and monthly basis, identifying risks and growth opportunities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Procurement to support accurate forecasting and inventory planning for retail channels
- Collaborate with Marketing to optimise online and in-store brand presence and retail marketing execution
- Liaise with Sales Operations to ensure efficient order processing and operational excellence
- Work closely with Commercial, Content, and Marketing teams on strategic promotions, exclusive launches, and partner-specific initiatives
- Operational & Relationship Management:
- Manage backend retailer systems and B2B platforms to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee escalated commercial customer feedback and ensure timely, effective resolution
- Build and maintain expert knowledge of products, industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape

Our take
A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
