Our take
As more people make the change to electric vehicles, public charging stations are in high demand. Electra is revolutionising electric vehicle charging with its installation of fast charging stations across major and medium-sized urban areas across Europe. In addition to the obvious benefit of having access to a fast-charging station, the company’s mobile and web application makes finding a station as simple as possible with its unique features.
The company has received support and recognition from the French government, joining the French Tech Next40, a government support program dedicated to the most promising French scale-ups and future European heavyweights.
The company saw a substantial injection of funding in mid-2022 that has enabled it to accelerate its coverage of France and further expand across European markets in Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and more. Planning to deploy 8,000 charging stations by 2030, the young company secured a $430 million green loan facility in 2025 to accelerate its progress.
