Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience launching business-critical integrations with large enterprises
- 2+ years of Cerner Integration experience
- Experience with mPage Workflow components, Dynamic Documentation, and CCL
- Experience working with technologies REST-like APIs (FHIR), OAuth2.0, mTLS
- Excitement about working on our tech stack, which include NodeJS/TypeScript and Google Cloud Platform
- Passionate about working in healthcare integrations
- Ability to act with autonomy & self-direction while working well in a team environment
- Willingness to pitch in wherever needed - as a fast-moving startup we need to do good work, quickly
- Comfortable with working across domains and languages with a curiosity to experiment & learn new things
- Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data integrations
- Experienced in delivering integrations with EHRs like Oracle Health/Cerner and others
- Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: FHIR, HL7, X12
What the job involves
- We’re looking for Senior Integrations Engineers to join our growing team! This role is instrumental in supporting our expansion in our hyper growth phase
- You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling our integrations powering our product
- You’ll work alongside our engineers, implementation specialists, support, and product managers to build real-time and batch data integrations with our partners and clients
- Scale up our business by designing, building, and supporting our integrations and infrastructure
- Build robust healthcare integrations without compromising security, privacy, or quality. These integrations will leverage technology standards using REST-like APIs, healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7v2, and other third-party APIs
- Collaborate closely with our health system customers to deploy, troubleshoot, and support integrations. Be comfortable engaging with external partners and stakeholders
- Enhance existing systems to add new functionality, and to improve performance, stability, quality, and security
- Advocate for high standards; make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase; add documentation and share knowledge; and help limit the growth of technical debt
- Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
- Communicate regularly and effectively within and on behalf of our cross-functional product delivery teams
- You’ll work with other disciplines including design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure, and will have opportunities to learn from and contribute to projects across the company
Our take
Summarising key elements of healthcare conversations is crucial for both physicians and patients. Medical scribes, though effective, are costly, and the healthcare system faces funding and staffing crises. This has created a demand for more efficient notetaking solutions.
This is where Abridge comes in; it has developed a HIPAA-compliant AI platform that transcribes, structures, summarises, and provides insights from audio or transcripts of medical conversations. It claims to work across all specialities and offers patient-friendly summaries in easy-to-understand language.
Abridge aims to alleviate pressure on the healthcare system from the patient's perspective, a unique approach among healthtech startups. While companies like Inovia, DOUB, and DeepScribe focus on assisting physicians with medical transcription AI, they lack Abridge's patient-centric features, which are valuable in enhancing the patient experience. Its unique focus, then, is part of the reason why it enjoyed two impressive rounds of funding in 2025 alone.
