Who you are
- Ownership and accountability: you have an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for connecting with customers, deeply understanding their journey, and taking full ownership of the conception and success of your products. You thrive in a dynamic environment where flexibility is key and unnecessary bureaucracy is nonexistent!
- Attention to detail: you have a knack for crafting clean product requirements and a sharp, consumer-first eye to build delightful, user-friendly products
- Analytical skills: you are data-driven, intellectually honest and rigorous. You’re comfortable conducting analyses autonomously to identify opportunities, define success and measure the impact of your products. You are comfortable writing SQL queries and running A/B tests
- Past experience: you bring 3-5 years of experience in Operations, Product or Strategy roles and embody the values and skills outlined above. Experience as a Product Manager with a proven track record of collaborating with engineering, design, and business functions is a plus but not required
- Languages: fluency in English is required, German is a plus
What the job involves
- Become the go-to expert on our customers and merchants across all our markets by deeply understanding their needs and pain points. You'll analyze the data we collect and lead user research to gain both quantitative and qualitative insights, build your knowledge, and shape the product roadmap
- Build delightful product features from scratch, leading both the discovery and delivery phases in collaboration with software engineers, designers and other internal stakeholders
- Monitor and measure the impact of the products you launch, and use insights to continually improve and iterate

Our take
Upway is a second hand marketplace for electric bicycles. The company buys electric bikes from private customers as well as e-bike companies, and refurbishes them where necessary before selling them at anywhere between 20 - 50% less than the original price.
With the electric bike industry thriving in Europe and expected to double in value over the next decade, Upway is creating a clever niche for itself by selling bikes at much less than the market rate while alleviating fears about second hand quality.
Since launching in 2019, Upway has attracted the backing of Sequoia Capital, who famously invested in the likes of Google and Airbnb. This has enabled the company to expand beyond its native France into Belgium while steadily growing its team.
Having recently entered the lucrative German, Dutch and US markets, Upway is hoping to expand its market presence. As the demand for greener modes of transport is growing exponentially in urban centres around the world it seems very likely that Upway will continue its recent run of success.
