Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of technical software development experience required
- Strong experience in coding in Java and using Spring Boot framework
- Should be well versed in object-oriented programming and microservice architecture/frameworks
- Experience with profiling, code analysis and solving code performance issues
- Experience with testing automation frameworks and version control systems
- Working experience with modern technology frameworks and database systems (Cloud Native/REST APIs/No SQL Database/React/Redis/Elastic) is a plus
- Algorithm and Data Structures Knowledge
- Experience using Git and platforms like GitHub
- Permanent U.S. work authorization REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 days onsite in office location; our office is in Dedham MA
Desirable
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with frameworks such as Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, and S3
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
- At least 5 years of technical and/or financial services experience; experience in the FinTech domain is preferred
What the job involves
- As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining our investment accounting software
- You will work in an agile development team to develop and deliver solutions, and work with product and client success teams to ensure our product success
- You will utilize your prior experience in the tech stack (Java, Spring Boot, Python, Cassandra, Elastic Search & REDIS, Azure, AWS) to develop, enhance and test the product
- Actively participate in coding and development tasks, often taking on more complex or critical aspects of a project
- Participate in design discussions and ensure they are scalable, high performing, maintainable, and meet business requirements
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality
- Maintain and enhance the existing codebase
- Solve complex technical problems
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during the development lifecycle
- Ensure that code coverage and other quality standards are met through thorough testing
- Work cross-functionally to ensure product deliverables are met
