Role
Who you are
- Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Golang
- Experience building and supporting microservices architectures
- Experience deploying and operating applications in containerised environments, ideally Kubernetes
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience working within agile development environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across the application stack, including network, server and database layers
- Experience building concurrent, distributed applications at scale
- Experience working with DevOps or SRE teams to support production environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A passion for learning, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality software
Desirable
- Experience with PHP
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ or other messaging technologies
- Experience with event-driven architectures
- Experience of real-time, low-latency transaction-based systems
- Knowledge of AWS, Docker and CI/CD practices
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or BigQuery
- Exposure to data platforms, ETL processes or machine learning-enabled products
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of other engineers
- Previous experience within fintech, payments or a fast-paced startup environment

- As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll build elegant, performant, maintainable, operable and secure Golang microservices that power innovative financial products and services
- You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions, contribute to system design and architecture, champion engineering best practice, and help continuously improve development processes
- You’ll play a key role in building a connected platform, developing data-driven financial insights, enabling integrations with leading applications and services, and supporting the delivery of scalable, resilient systems that help customers better manage their money
