Who you are
- We're looking for someone who knows great social isn't built in approval meetings—it's built by people who understand culture, trust their instincts, and know when to throw the playbook out the window
- You think in content series instead of one-off posts. You bookmark weird TikToks for inspiration. You know the difference between chasing a trend and creating one. You understand that the comments section can be just as valuable as the post itself
- You're excited about AI because it helps you create better work—not because it replaces creativity. You use it to brainstorm, spot patterns, automate the repetitive stuff, analyze what's resonating, and spend more time making ideas people actually care about
- You have strong creative instincts, good judgment, and know when to move fast, when to take a risk, and when to leave the trend alone
- A portfolio that makes us say, "Wait...you did that?"
- Experience leading social media and content strategy for a consumer-facing brand with work that drove meaningful business impact
- Deep understanding of today's social platforms, creator economy, internet culture, and how people actually consume content
- Experience using AI throughout the creative process—from ideation and research to workflow automation, content production, social listening, and performance analysis
- Strong creative instincts balanced with a healthy respect for data
- Experience building content strategies that combine original creative, creators, user-generated content, and community
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, agencies, or creators
- A bias toward experimentation, curiosity, and finding smarter ways to work
- The ability to zoom out and think strategically while still getting excited about writing the perfect caption or jumping into the comments

- The Brand Team is in the business of making people smile before they ever buy anything. We create the stories, campaigns, and moments that make BARK one of the internet's favorite brands to follow
- Social sits at the center of that work. You'll shape how millions of people experience BARK every day, partnering with Creative, Growth, Product Marketing, PR, and Customer Experience to create content people choose to watch, share, save, and send to the group chat
- Make BARK one of the internet's favorite brands by leading our social media and content strategy across every platform
- Build an AI-enabled content engine that helps the team create smarter, move faster, and spend more time making great ideas instead of managing repetitive work
- Keep BARK delightfully unpredictable by developing original social-first campaigns, partnering with creators, jumping on the right cultural moments, and occasionally creating a few of our own
- Use performance data, social listening, audience insights, and emerging AI tools to continuously improve our creative strategy and uncover opportunities for the broader business
- Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, ownership, and creative ambition
Our take
The number of subscription model services has risen substantially over nearly a decade, and the hassle-free, customizable model makes it a smart fit for pet services. BARK, previously BarkBox, is a subscription company working with retail giants like Amazon, Target, and PetSmart to leverage this trend, delivering monthly boxes of dog products to pet owners.
The recession-resistant nature of the pet sector has made BARK an attractive investment prospect. However, numerous like-for-like US competitors have enjoyed the same market benefits, and whilst BARK's big-name retail partnerships are likely to keep it ahead, at some point, it may need to consider more decisive ways of distinguishing itself from competitors.
However, the company has leveraged these advantages into material gains. Further, after a minor rebrand and the launch of BARK food, its own dog food brand, it seems well-placed to continue ahead of the pack. The company also partnered with Crocs in 2024 to release dog Crocs. It's a very fun and exciting new branch for the company that will surely appeal to many fur baby owners.
