Role
Who you are
- You’re a smart, hungry and humble Technical Product Owner ready to drive forward our delivery velocity
- Our engineering team is rapidly growing, and our product and engineering teams need support in streamlining our product development and delivery processes
- You will have extensive experience working within Agile or Scrum, measuring and optimising engineering team velocity, and continuously communicating between stakeholders, customers and very technical engineers
- Strong Agile/Scrum project manager skills
- Familiar with working with one or more
- Developer tools (e.g. Stripe, Twilio, Github, Postman, Jira)
- BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Metabase, etc.)
- Programming languages (e.g. Javascript, Python, SQL, Ruby)
- Extensive experience
- Weighing trade-offs, especially regarding feature scope, technical debt, and resource constraints, as well as maximising product value and engineering resources with each sprint
- Delivering high-quality product updates on time while supporting a culture of clarity, accountability, and customer-centred focus
- Proactively and effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on expectations and releases
- Metric tracking and analysis to guide data-driven decision-making
- Data-driven and analytical mindset
- Strong and clear communication (very important!)
- Attention to detail and dedication to quality!
- Assertive and not afraid to push back to make sure the right things are prioritised
- Fluent English
What the job involves
- Work directly with the Head of Product (CEO) to execute against monthly and quarterly product and engineering priorities
- Be the product eyes and ears of the founders, helping them execute their product and company vision
- Own and maintain the engineering backlog (creating, refining, prioritising, and sequencing user stories, features, technical debt, bug fixes, technical support tickets, etc.)
- Work directly with the Engineering and Design teams to deliver on time and to a quality level that our customers consistently describe as "delightful to use!"
- Work directly with the Head of Engineering to run/facilitate the sprints and other Engineering Scrum meetings (sprint planning, refining sessions, daily stand-ups, etc.)
- Be responsible for continuously measuring and optimising core product team KPIs (delivery velocity, user engagement and satisfaction, product response times, uptime, error rates, etc.)
- Ensure that the Head of Product and leadership have a clear understanding of which customers and stakeholders need what and maintain a prioritised list of feature requests and dependencies
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders (engineering, design, customer success, growth, leadership, etc.), ensuring that everybody understands product priorities and requirements and that prioritizations have been sense-checked with stakeholders to ensure well-rounded perspectives on complexity, impact, and feasibility
