What the job involves
- As a Workplace Coordinator at Candid Health, you’ll help create the work environment that enables our team to do their very best work
- You’ll own the day-to-day operations of our Denver office while also supporting broader people team projects as we scale
- Your work is critical to both the employee and candidate experience: ensuring our office runs smoothly, our team feels supported, and our onsite interviews and in-person moments are thoughtful, organized, and high quality
- This is a high-growth, high-impact role for someone early in their career excited to learn how a fast-growing health tech startup operates from the inside while growing alongside it
- Own the day-to-day experience of the Denver office. You’ll be responsible for creating a workplace that feels polished and welcoming for employees and visitors alike. You’ll maintain shared spaces, manage snacks and office supply inventory, and overall ensure the office is consistently clean and organized
- Keep the office operating seamlessly. You’ll manage office capacity, support moving operations, coordinate shipments and deliveries, restock the kitchen and common areas, and help prepare workstations for new employees. You’ll own all the little details that make an office feel high-functioning
- Be the face of the office. You’ll meet and greet our visitors, give tours to new hires, and help support in-office interviews, offsites, and board meetings in Denver
- Own vendor management. You’ll serve as a primary point of contact for office-related logistics: coordinating with vendors, handling incoming deliveries, and building strong working relationships with the building’s security and facilities teams
- Support meeting rooms and in-office readiness. You’ll ensure meeting rooms and common spaces are set up for the week ahead, including arranging furniture, preparing conference spaces, and confirming IT setups
- Improve office operations as we scale. You’ll notice friction points, bring structure to recurring tasks, and help improve the systems and habits that keep the office running well over time
- Expand your scope over time with opportunities to take on additional executive admin, recruiting or people operations projects once you ramp
Our take
Healthcare spending in the US medical system has been ballooning for decades. Administration contributes a substantial portion to this, constituting almost three times what other developed countries spend proportionate to their healthcare budget - and taking up valuable physician hours. The detrimental impact this has on the quality and affordability of care has meant solutions are becoming urgent, and Candid Health is contributing a strong one.
The data and AI-driven platform helps healthcare providers automate the process of submitting, chasing, and appealing insurance claims. It’s regularly audited by HIPAA, helping the company dodge the tightening data protection net that’s stunted the progress of some medtech startups. Having passed this obstacle the company is running at modest capacity - the challenge now is to lock in a broader client base, which could prove challenging.
Companies like Change Healthcare and Flobotics, for example, offer automated claims submissions as part of a broader robotic process automation service for medical institutions. It may be that this holistic administrative software proves more attractive for overburdened providers. For now, however, Candid Health is gaining a respectable amount of traction and enjoyed a funding round of $29 million in 2024.
