Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of sales or sales ops experience in a tech company, preferably with hands-on experience using Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, and/or Salesloft
- Experience in SaaS implementation, sales development, or customer success
- Ability to independently learn new systems and skills to enhance work quality
- Comfortable with ambiguity, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth start-up environments
- Proven track record of achieving results and meeting quotas or expectations
- Strong technical skills and product savviness
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support shared outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for standardized processes and customer success
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- Must be based in Canada
- Travel to customer sites required (25%-50%)
Desirable
- Certifications in relevant products: Outreach, HubSpot, Salesforce
- Sales Operations experience
- Experience replying to RFPs
- Early-stage startup experience
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience implementing Orum at another company
- Experience with data flows, AI/ML concepts, analytics, APIs/webhooks, or JSON
What the job involves
- As a Sales Engineer at Orum, you will play a vital role in ensuring our prospects and customers have an exceptional experience within our platform
- You will act as a key resource in both pre-sale and post-sale processes, combining your technical expertise with strategic consulting to drive customer success
- You will be part mentor, project manager, consultant, and product specialist, dedicated to helping prospects and customers improve their sales development efforts and achieve success with Orum
- Sales Engineers work closely with pre & post sales teams, product teams and customer success to understand customers' business objectives, scope and execute platform pilots, execute technical implementation, and consult on the best strategies to be successful with Orum
- Partner with prospective and new Orum customers to provide comprehensive pilot onboarding, integration support, education, and documentation
- Configure and set up all platform features to ensure seamless implementation
- Ensure external systems are configured and optimized for use with Orum
- Highlight Orum's unique advantages against perceived alternatives and competitors
- Understand customer growth goals, strategies, and initiatives to recommend best practice use cases
- Establish and maintain relationships with key executive stakeholders within your portfolio
- Build additional champions with Revops personas during the sales cycle
- Drive the adoption of Orum’s product features to maximize customer value
- Stay current on Orum’s product updates and develop use cases to drive customers to best practices
- Identify potential risks to customer success and recommend mitigation strategies
- Produce internal best practices and customer user stories to strengthen the customer adoption process
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Product Management, and Engineering to address customer needs and feedback
- Document the outcomes and insights from the pilot process to assist our customers and in-house teams
Our take
While Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce and Salesloft have undoubtedly helped shorten the sales cycle, particularly by helping generate high value leads, the onus is still on sales teams to manually reach out to potential customers.
This part of the sales process has long been taken at face value, despite how much time sales agents lose by calling bad numbers, reaching voicemail, and navigating existing account data.
Orum is aiming to change this with an AI-powered platform that filters out poor numbers and automates voicemails. It calls multiple numbers simultaneously, all in a bid to get sales reps on live calls as quickly and often as possible. That Orum plugs into the major CRMs like Salesforce, rather than competing with them, should help its cause.
Orum’s trajectory has been very positive thus far, frequently expanding its headcount, achieving impressive Series B funding and winning a number of high-profile customers such as Salesforce partner Simplus and data protection company Clumio.
