Role
Who you are
- BA/BS degree. 10+ years of experience in software development industry with at least 7 years as a TPM
- Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions. You can take a vague problem, crisply frame the challenge, identify a path forward, and drive an initiative over the finish-line
- Self-motivated, proactive and proven ability to adapt well and work with teams having different operating cadences
- Detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem solving abilities to prioritize and manage blocking issues
- Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment where communication with multiple groups is imperative
- Ability to ramp up quickly and learn new technologies with minimal lag time
- Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Exhibit knowledge of Asana, Jira, Airtable or other equivalent task management tooling
What the job involves

- As we grow to achieve that mission, we’re looking to add a technical, hands-on, and mission-driven TPM to the team
- A person in this role will partner with our Trust organization on their trust enforcement systems
- This is an ecosystem of services to enable detection and mitigation of fraud and policy violations at scale
- In addition to helping their team deliver predictable, consistent program execution, this leader should have a strong sense of ownership and ability to think and work strategically with a variety of stakeholders
- Develop program scope and objectives, collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, ensure technical feasibility and drive projects end-to-end
- Aligning on staffing, priorities and technical dependencies within Trust and cross-functional teams like Payments, Trust Ops and others, both in terms of quarterly/ half-yearly/bi-annual release planning, and managing ongoing risk escalation/ mitigation which could impact the success of the programs
- Manage Technical Design diligence process for large programs aligning design backlog w/ project plan, scheduling reviews and pre-reviews, engaging the right stakeholders across teams, and managing meeting quality and efficiency
- Manage effective communications to leadership and across teams on key decisions, status, and risks to ensure accountability and timeline management
- Understand best practices, drive for process improvements, and find new ways of operating, with a focus on simplification and productivity
- Provide visibility into key performance indicators so leaders are aware of risks and opportunities
- In this role, you will be expected to work independently with stakeholders and cross-functional leadership with little supervision from management
Our take
When Airbnb was originally founded, the product helped customers book air mattresses on people's apartment floors. Since then, Airbnb has had over a billion customers hosted through its platform. With more than 4 million registered hosts worldwide, it has grown into a major player in the hospitality sector.
Airbnb has been successful in disrupting the traditional holiday lettings sector. Before it existed accommodation was limited to hotels and bed and breakfasts, but Airbnb has mainstreamed the idea of renting out spare rooms or even entire homes. It has created a new sector of hosts purchasing properties to rent out on the platform and provides a level of flexibility and a range of offerings not previously possible for travelers.
Perhaps a victim of its own success, by 2022 supply of Airbnb-listed properties began to outstrip demand in some markets, as hosts overestimated the appetite for domestic travel. However, the company is still posting strong financials and has unveiled new tools to support its hosts in a tougher rental market. With a healthy bottom line and a huge user base, Airbnb is very likely to overcome the current market turbulence and continue its growth.
