Who you are
- The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is able a strong ability to strategize and execute on relationship-building initiatives, and a passion for the intersection of technology and AI
- 7+ years of experience in brand strategy, executive communications, event management, or strategic partnerships, ideally in AI, enterprise SaaS, or technology industries. Previous experience in small, high-growth companies is a plus
- Proven expertise in brand positioning, executive messaging, and market influence—understanding how to shape narratives that drive industry leadership
- Is a self-starter and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, early-stage environment, with the ability to take ownership of key initiatives and drive them to completion
- Ability to think strategically about relationship-building while also being hands-on with execution, particularly in a small team setting
- Experience leading end-to-end event strategy including planning, execution and post-event impact measurement
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with C-level executives, particularly CIOs
- Analytical mindset and capable of setting and tracking performance metrics to assess the impact of your engagement strategies
- Understanding of the technology industry and its challenges, particularly with respect to AI and tech innovations, is highly desirable
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Strategic Communications & Brand leader to drive and execute our efforts that build, nurture, and grow relationships with top Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other key figures in the technology industry
- As a core member of our small, dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development through strategic relationship building, exclusive events, and high impact community engagement initiatives
- This role is essential to our early-stage growth and requires a self-starter who can independently execute high-impact initiatives while laying the foundation for long-term community development
- Strategic Relationship Development: Develop and execute targeted strategy to establish and deepen relationships with CIOs and senior technology executives
- Align engagement efforts with broader business growth objectives and position the company as a thought leader in the AI tech space
- Brand Strategy and Market Positioning: Develop and oversee brand strategy to ensure a consistent, compelling brand identity across events, content and external engagements
- Partner with internal teams to refine brand messaging, visual identity, and storytelling
- Drive brand awareness initiatives through strategic partnerships, media opportunities and executive presence
- Internal and External Event Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy aligned with company goals and brand identity
- Design and execute engaging, innovative event experiences that resonate with technology professionals and key stakeholders
- Lead end-to-end event management, from concept development to execution, for both intimate gatherings and larger-scale conferences
- This includes positioning Distyl at the right forums including WEF (Davos), and media including publications like Fortune, Forbes, and WSJ
- Content & Thought Leadership Development: Collaborate closely with leadership to develop engaging and insightful thought leadership content, including industry reports, executive insights, whitepapers and blog posts
- Craft content that resonates with the technology community showcases our innovations and positions Distyl as a leading voice in the AI industry
- Performance Tracking and Optimization: Establish and monitor key metrics (OKRs and KPIs) to measure engagement, impact and ROI
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership, enabling data-driven decisions to refine event strategies and strengthen overall engagement efforts
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage event budgets, timelines and resources to ensure cost effective planning and flawless execution
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to oversee all logistical and operational aspects to delivering seamless, high impact events and creating memorable experiences for attendees
