Who you are
- Someone with 8+ years of software development experience

- Transform the future of payments for 500K+ companies worldwide as a Senior Frontend Developer on our Checkout Team.
- Your expertise will revolutionize how millions experience transactions, creating seamless, secure, and scalable payment journeys.
- You'll take ownership of critical technical landscapes including our modular checkout widget, hosted payment page, Demoshop, and checkout SDK, while bridging connections between external payment service providers and internal teams focused on authorization, risk, and onboarding
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UI/UX Designers to craft exceptional user experiences that millions interact with daily
- Pioneer improvements to development processes that enhance developer experience (DX) without sacrificing delivery speed
- Orchestrate seamless end-to-end design and integration across teams and systems
- Lead crucial trade-off discussions that balance performance, scalability, and user experience
- Elevate team capabilities by mentoring and coaching through workshops, pair programming, and code reviews
- Help shape our team's future by attracting, reviewing, and interviewing top talent
- Our frontend architecture employs a monorepo approach with applications built using Next.js, React, and TypeScript, powered by shared libraries and a unified design system. Our technology stack includes Context API and xState for state management, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, and Storybook for testing and documentation, plus Nx, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD and tooling
Our take
Buy Now, Pay Later(BNPL) options have exploded in popularity in recent years, with companies such as Klarna and Clearpay providing an additional line of credit to customers allowing them to split the cost of their purchases over several installments. Billie is a BNPL built for business transactions, using machine-learning driven risk models to responsibly finance B2B purchases.
With over 100,00 customers processing more than €750 million on its platform, Billie does not face much competition in its market. While BNPL firms like Afterpay and Klarna could theoretically move into the B2B space, they are specialised in B2C financing and lack Billie's data on the B2B sector. Billie also boasts a range of features designed specifically for intra-company sales such as instant verification, invoicing tools and business payment options which give it a large advantage against any new rivals.
Billie has raised a significant amount of funding from investors, most recently in a 2021 Series C round. Additionally Its 2022 integration with Klarna, allowing companies with a Klarna installation to swiftly switch over to Billie's payment options for B2B sales has removed a major roadblock to its future expansion. This move, alongside its entrance into more markets in Europe, will likely speed the company's ascension to Unicorn status and solidify its market lead in the BNPL space.
