Accounting Analyst, Kraken

• 3+ years of accounting/audit experience from the Big 4 or national accounting firms
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant or local equivalent i.e. ICAS or CA
• Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX
• Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Microsoft Excel proficiency including pivot tables, H & V-Lookup

• We are seeking a Platform Accounting Analyst who will play a crucial part in our month end close and reporting, by supporting business processes and products from an accounting and reconciliation perspective
• Areas that you will be involved in include but are not limited to digital asset reconciliations for corporate & custodial crypto, equities, xstocks, fiat reconciliations, spot trading, margin, futures, Realized & Unrealized gain loss, and new product launches
• You will work closely with your finance/accounting leaders & business partners to prepare reconciliations and related reports, and support financial and regulatory audits
• There will also be ample opportunities to work on projects to help automate close processes and improve the quality of our financial statements
• Interface daily with internal systems and our proprietary exchange platform to assist with fiat and digital asset position reconciliations across our various banks and crypto wallets
• Delivery of financial & treasury reconciliations for applicable local entities, in particular client funding reconciliations for the regulated entities, for review and approval by senior management. Ensure Group Treasury are informed of funding requirements on a timely basis
• Support and maintain key regulatory processes that facilitate both timely product launches but also ongoing regulatory compliance post-launch
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Promptly research and correct discrepancies while communicating findings and actions to the appropriate stakeholders cross functionally
• Support financial reporting & regulatory requests by providing complete, accurate and timely support for areas we are responsible for
• Ensure accounting on both consolidated and stand alone financials comply with various different regulatory environments and entities across the globe
• Independently manage and develop current reconciliation processes for greater efficiency and transparency, while analyzing data against business drivers to identify issues and trends
• Maintain and review daily, monthly and yearly reconciliations for financial accounting issues and reporting
• Provide support for internal and external audits, including and not limited the local statutory audit process for applicable local legal entities
• Document processes and procedures to ensure proper controls are maintained
• Participate in ad hoc requests as assigned
