Who you are
- The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level as well as with software developers and IT architects.
- You should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets
- 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
- Track record of meeting sales quotas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of cloud computing and IT infrastructure
- Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent
- Experience in complex, long-cycle enterprise sales
- Advanced knowledge of cloud computing technologies and AWS services
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities
- Experience in territory development and strategic account planning
- Experience selling to C-level executives
- Track record of developing and executing complex sales strategies

- Your responsibilities will include driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration in enterprise accounts.

- Meet or exceed revenue targets
- Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan
- Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services
- Accelerate customer adoption
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline
- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption
- Manage contract negotiations
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Expect moderate travel
- Build and maintain executive relationships across all levels (CxO, EVP, SVP, Line of Business leaders, Board of Directors) for each assigned customer
- Research and analyze industry and market trends to develop strategic visions, plans, and execution strategies that drive positive customer outcomes
- Consistently exceed sales quotas and goals, demonstrating a strong focus on results
- Maintain operational excellence through accurate and timely updates to Salesforce and other reporting systems
- Act as the primary strategic leader for the assigned territory, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Partners, Demand Generation, Training, Enterprise Support, Sales Operations, Business Development, Service Teams, Specialists)
- Embody the #OneTeam philosophy, ensuring seamless coordination and communication across all support functions

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.
More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
