Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of corporate in-house PR and/or PR agency experience
- In-house communications experience a plus, but not required
- Experience working with large, highly matrixed brands; professional services experience, a plus but not required
- Proficient in building and successfully leveraging relationships at media outlets
- Ability to work independently and is a highly motivated and eager team player
- Works well in a collaborative, high growth, deadline driven environment where a bias for action is rewarded
- Agile team member and excellent communicator, writer, and speaker
- Experienced in contributing to social media platforms; working knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter content, is ideal
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365

What the job involves
- The position of Public Relations Specialist will sit in the corporate communications team to support a rapidly growing business within a highly competitive landscape
- Will share responsibility for PR activities across the earned, owned and paid spectrum, including general marketplace brand awareness, corporate and service line media relations, subject matter expert visibility in media and at conferences and other industry events, awards submissions and social media content planning/execution
- Work closely with the head of Corporate Communications and the team, with responsibility for company public relations activities across key markets
- Executive visibility for business pillar leaders and top subject matter experts along with select media relations activities for priority geographic markets and industry verticals
- Where work may be for non-US operations, will work with in-country resources to build media relationships with relevant press to garner exposure for the Sikich brand within the marketplace
- Draft all public relations content, including comprehensive communications plans, press releases, statements, talking points and social media content in support of all company initiatives requiring external promotion; this may include strategic hires announcements, acquisition announcements and any other press-worthy company news
- Identify opportunities and draft, submit and monitor awards submissions; promote award wins
- Draft and pitch, when/where appropriate, thought leadership content such as contributed pieces including bylines, op-eds, blog posts and others
- Identify, secure and promote subject matter expert participation at industry and other public speaking events
- Help centrally manage development, posting, analysis, monitoring and responses on Sikich corporate social media platforms
- Help maintain profiles and response to comments on external employer platforms like Glassdoor, Indeed and Google Business
- Act as a collaborator with the Employee Engagement & Culture team that oversees internal/employee communications
- Act as a creative problem solver, innovator and collaborator to help the company evolve its dedicated public relations function, ambitiously growing exposure and prominence for the brand with key stakeholder audiences as the company continues its rapid growth
- Analyze and report on public relations activities on a regular basis, contributing to company reports, including daily media monitoring report to company leadership
- Participate in other special projects and assignments for the broader Corporate Communications and Marketing & Communications team, as needed
