What the job involves

  • A Lead Developer at Planes will work closely with one or more project teams (including designers, developers and product managers), helping them to work to best practices and unblock them when technical challenges arise. Much of the time you will find your self working directly on projects, getting your hands dirty whether thats via pair programming with more junior developers or committing code. However from time to time you might find yourself client-facing, helping to scope projects and consulting on technical requirements for a new project.
  • On top of your day to day, you will be working to enhance the Software Engineering practice at Planes by spotting opportunities for team growth, identifying possible new tools that could help the team work more efficiently and providing mentoring for other developers in the team.As a lead, you'll also spend some time:
  • Coaching more junior Developers
  • Implementing Software Engineering best practice in Planes
  • Collaborating with other people and functions on new initiatives for making Planes a better, smarter, and more fun place to work

  • Pair Programming exercise with two of our team (1 hour)
  • Interview with Tech Director and one of our Developers
