Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting experience and a solid background in group accounting and reporting
- You’ll be methodical, organised and highly detail-focused, with the confidence to work collaboratively and provide constructive challenge when needed
- You’ll also be hands-on, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to work effectively in an evolving environment
- Experience using Sage 200
- Experience preparing management accounts
- Experience preparing group accounts or consolidations
- Experience preparing statutory accounts
- Strong technical accounting skills and an interest in technical standards
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Qualified accountant – ACMA, ACCA, ICAEW or ICAS
Desirable
- Experience working in a high-growth or evolving environment
- Experience supporting integration activity during M&A
What the job involves
- Contract: Temporary – 3 months
- We’re looking for an experienced Group Accountant to join our Finance team on a 3-month FTC contract
- The Group Accountant will play a key role in supporting the smooth migration of our group companies from Xero and Business Central to Sage 200
- You’ll help ensure business continuity throughout the transition, with a strong focus on data integrity, accurate reporting and financial governance
- You’ll also support in maximising the benefits of having all companies operating on one platform, enabling accurate and timely consolidation of accounts, consistent controls and reconciliations, and the ability to report divisionally
- The role will also involve developing work instructions and quick reference guides to help colleagues get up to speed with Sage 200
- Reporting to: Group Reporting and Finance Transformation Manager
- Supporting the migration from Xero and Business Central to Sage 200
- Developing a consolidation schedule for all Group companies
- Developing monthly reporting packs comparing actuals to budget
- Developing control account reconciliations as part of the month-end process
- Drafting training documentation to support users with Sage 200
- Supporting the transition to the new lease accounting model under FRS 102
- Delivering reporting to support statutory account disclosures, with a clear audit trail
- Supporting the Group Reporting and Finance Transformation Manager in ensuring Sage 200 strengthens financial governance across the business
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of reporting quality, accuracy and efficiency
- This is a 3-month temporary contract, so we’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are available immediately or at short notice

Costs and rollout speed are two main issues with fibre network installations, especially in underserved parts of the UK. Freedom Fibre is a northwestern company that partners with internet service providers to install cost-effective networks across the UK. It positions itself as an altnet provider, working independently from wider broadband infrastructures, utilising fibre optics cables so that individuals and companies can run their own secure and speedy networks.
Freedom Fibre claims to be more than 40x faster and 5x more reliable than home broadband packages, and also develops fibre network solutions for enterprises, guaranteeing a 5-hour fix time on any errors or outages. It walks the walk, too, securing a partnership with major wholesale connectivity, voice, cloud and security provider Platform X Communications in 2025. This will see PXC use Freedom Fibre’s network for all of its solutions.
After a merger with VX Fibre in 2024, Freedom Fibre has established itself as a leader in the altnet fibre optics space. It is currently accelerating its fibre optics rollout across the UK.
