Who you are
- ServiceTitan is seeking a Cloud Operations Senior Engineer with experience working with global teams, supporting SaaS applications, and distributed cloud infrastructure, and being part of a world-class Cloud Operations team
- At least 5+ years of experience in operations or development environments or equivalent
- Experience with troubleshooting distributed web applications in a production environment
- Log / Metric collection and analysis tools (e.g. Elasticsearch-Logstash-Kibana, DataDog, Interana)
- Understanding of protocols such as HTTPS, DNS, SSH, RDP, and SMB
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS or GCP
- Advanced experience with scripting: Python, Bash or PowerShell
- Advanced experience with provisioning tools: Terraform, Vagrant, Packer or Ansible
- Advanced experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or TeamCity
- Intermediate experience with databases: MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle
- Intermediate experience with virtualization platforms: VMWare, Hyper-V or VirtualBox
- Intermediate experience with containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, AKS or EKS
- Intermediate experience with serverless computing: Azure Functions or AWS Lambda
- Intermediate experience with C# programming as a plus
- Intermediate understanding of frameworks: ITIL, DevOps or SRE is a plus
- Any certification you have will be reviewed by the ServiceTitan recruitment team and the relevant ones will be considered as a plus
What the job involves
- As a Senior Engineer, you will help improve our response to alerts, manage escalations, triage technical software problems, and be an integral part of our incident response protocol
- Our goal is to provide premium uptime to our customers and improve the meantime to repair all incidents
- You will be part of a globally distributed team to accomplish these goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely and accurate information regarding security incidents and recommended actions
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and fulfill requests
- Document, follow up and escalate incidents, requests and other daily activities
- Work with tools, scripts and interfaces on a daily basis
- Participate in on-call rotations, driving restoration and repair of service-impacting issues
- Analyze production and supporting tools outages, suggest and implement solutions
- Identify areas of improvement in activities, suggest and implement solutions
- Build automation tools for daily activities to eliminate operational toils
- Build and improve monitoring, alerting and requests tracking tools
- Coach, train and mentor other engineers
- Efficiently and effectively collaborate with other ServiceTitan departments
- Contribute to the ServiceTitan SaaS and supporting tools engineering improvements
- Contribute to ServiceTitan SaaS and supporting tools operational cost efficiency
