Who you are
- This role is for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions and being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact
- Experience in software development, specifically with building web applications at scale using Python
- The ability to gain fluency in new technologies quickly and work effectively in an ever-evolving environment that includes distributed teams and customers
- Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, particularly using an Agile process and with large scale SaaS products
- A diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems
- A history of past projects (including notable successes and lessons learned) and
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build high-trust relationships with fellow Clions and customers
- Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI

What the job involves
- We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our rapidly growing Engineering team
- The Vincent Integrations team builds public APIs for Vincent AI as well as connections with external Document Management Systems, allowing customers to integrate Vincent into their existing systems and workflows
- Work with a team of developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions to Clio customers
- Work in an agile environment with our team of full stack developers across a variety of projects
- Learning new things, and challenging yourself and honing your craft as a Python expert
- Participating in diverse projects and collaborating with multiple engineering teams across Canada, United States, and Europe
- Review and provide feedback on code, both from within your own team or across all of Clio
- Collaborate with teams across Clio to diagnose, understand, and solve problems, and to build solutions that may span many areas
Our take
Modern law firms increasingly manage their work digitally but the lack of a specialised remote solution means that workflows have become fragmented. This leads to legal practice managers having to juggle multiple software solutions across various devices.
Clio provides a legal practice management platform designed for law firms, allowing users to manage billing for legal aid cases, access and manage documents and store files across multiple devices. Whilst other startups are operating in this niche, Clio has uniquely focussed on synchronisation across remote devices and on a wide range of integrations, allowing the user to access information from other industry standard software such as Xero and Klyant from within a single interface.
Clio has raised a large amount of investment capital and benefited from the COVID-era move to cloud technologies. Most recently, it raised a 2024 Series F round, which saw the company attain a valuation exceeding $3 billion. This funding is being used to accelerate AI development and to allow existing investors and employees to cash out their shares.
