Our take
Jam City is a game development company behind some of the most popular mobile games played today, including Jurassic World Alive, Disney EmoJi Blitz and Cookie Jam. The company differentiates itself from others in this with its focus on licensed properties, holding deals with Disney and Warner Brothers among others to produce games featuring their characters. This instant brand recognition has vaulted it to a strong market position, with billions of games downloaded and over $4 billion in sales to date.
Despite extremely strong backing from investors and a solid revenue stream, the company has encountered difficulties in the market. After scrapping plans to go public through a merger in 2021 it has reduced its headcount to bring its operations in line with market conditions. Having also reshuffled its leadership team it is now in a stronger position for sustained growth going forward.
