Role
Who you are
- 5+ years software engineering experience, including 2+ years professional mobile development
- 2+ years of experience with React Native
- Experience shipping production mobile features on iOS and/or Android
- Strong debugging, testing, and code quality discipline
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Desirable
- Familiarity with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) modules
- Experience working on 0→1 mobile products
- Contributions to shared mobile infra (CI/CD, component library, analytics) are a plus

- We are hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to help build Rula’s first iOS and Android apps
- You’ll work closely with a Staff Mobile Engineer, product managers, and designers to deliver impactful patient-facing features from day one
- As a founding engineer, you’ll contribute to a brand-new codebase, shape our engineering practices, and play a critical role in making mental health care more accessible on mobile

Our take
More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including United Healthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech-enabled mental health provision is rather overstuffed, with giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers set it apart. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. It also rebranded to emphasise its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
