What the job involves
- Obligo is looking for a resourceful, people-driven, and proactive People Experience & Office Manager to join our New York City team
- In this role, you’ll own the day-to-day operations of our NYC office while helping create an outstanding employee experience and supporting HR, recruiting, and leadership operations
- Own the day-to-day operations of our NYC office, including vendors, supplies, facilities, and office logistics
- Ensure the office is welcoming, well-organized, and an inspiring environment for employees and visitors
- Coordinate team events, happy hours, company offsites, and office initiatives with creativity and attention to detail
- Be the point person for all office-related needs and continuously improve the workplace experience
- Partner closely with the VP HR to support recruiting coordination, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Schedule interviews, manage candidate communications, and ensure a seamless and thoughtful candidate experience
- Help onboard new hires and ensure a smooth, positive transition into the company
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and cultural activities that reflect Obligo’s values
- Be the go-to person for all things people, helping make Obligo a truly great place to work
- Manage calendars, meetings, and domestic and international travel for the leadership team and employees
- Support finance operations, including invoices, expense reports, and budget tracking
- Coordinate communication and logistics across teams to ensure smooth operations and alignment
- Jump in on special projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance collaboration, and elevate the employee experience
Our take
Moving into a property usually requires a security deposit, and whilst this will be returned upon move-out if a property has not been damaged, this money is soon spent once again on a new move-in deposit. This ultimately makes this chunk of money inaccessible to both the landlord and the renter, raising the question as to whether there is a better alternative to security deposits.
Obligo provides a flexible security deposit alternative for property renting, preventing renters from having to pay a security deposit up-front. Instead, the company provides a legal framework that only requires renters to pay when a damage charge has been submitted, with the company paying the landlord up-front whilst facilitating the renter to pay through interest-free instalments.
Landlords and renters already have choices for digital security deposit systems, but Obligo stands out by removing the necessity for up-front payments. The company has raised significant funding over the years, which supports expansion and the strengthening of partnerships.
