Who you are
- Proficiency in generating wireframes, design documentation, and prototyping is a requirement
- You have 7+ years of experience working collaboratively to design features and complex UX systems and complete them across multiple platforms (mobile, web, PC, consoles)
- You have 7+ years of experience working in flexible environments and on multi-disciplinary teams
- You have 4+ years of experience managing a team of 1-4 people or equivalent training
- 5+ years of experience presenting to other team members and stakeholders
- You are a service-oriented, empathetic, and compassionate leader
- You are skilled with Figma, the Adobe Suite, and prototyping software
- You have a strong online portfolio demonstrating user-centered design solutions with strong visual direction and interaction design
What the job involves
- Epic Games is looking for a passionate leader who can drive change across impactful areas of the Fortnite ecosystem
- These areas include (but are not limited to) the Quests, Meta-progression, and Passes flows
- The right candidate will be able to effectively guide a strong team of UX designers, advocate forward-thinking strategies, and produce scalable features and systems for our millions of players worldwide
- Lead a team of UX designers (2-6) working in one of the major initiatives on Fortnite
- Work with Product Directors and Game Designers to translate goals and constraints into compelling user-facing experiences
- Collaborate with other UX/UI Craft leads, ensuring strong cross-team relationships and communication
- Present and pitch designs to Product Managers, Developers, and Stakeholders
- Produce UX design work such as competitive analysis, information design, content strategy, user stories, journey mapping, and accessibility standards
- Work collaboratively across multiple teams within Fortnite to create consistency and resolve design discrepancies
- Build flexible design systems that enhance our ability to design more efficiently and consistently

Epic's Unreal Engine technology brings high-fidelity, interactive experiences to PC, console, mobile, AR, VR and the Web. The release of next-generation consoles like the PS5 has enabled Epic Games to push the limits of their software, meaning it'll lead the charge in the creation of next-gen games. 2024 saw an unprecedented investment in Epic Games by Disney, amounting to $1.5 billion. This will enable Disney to promote iconic characters through the Fortnite game. With the number of people enjoying video games continuing to grow, there is no sign of Epic Games slowing down any time soon.
