Who you are
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3+ years of experience with a Master’s degree', in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Operations and provisioning experience in Kubernetes or EKS
- Experience with Kubernetes components like Karpenter, OPA Gatekeeper, Crossplane, AWS Secrets Plugin, CNI, and Service Mesh
Desirable
- Familiarity with IaC pipelines and Helm charts
- Hands on experience with AWS CLI and AWS Console
- Programming knowledge in Go, Python, or Java
- Experience in software delivery pipelines and CI/CD systems
What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer on our Kubernetes Platform Engineering team, you will build and operate our managed Kubernetes platform in a distributed AWS environment which runs Marqeta and all of our production workloads
- Build, test, and continuously improve our modern, repeatable Kubernetes infrastructure
- Leverage IaC to define all of our repeatable infrastructure in Terraform
- Create secure, available, fully automated, repeatable, and Cloud Native infrastructure
- Reduce operating costs by creating the infrastructure and scaffolding for our engineering user community to deploy multi-region, highly-available services
