Role
Who you are
- J.D. and undergraduate degrees from a top-tier school
- 3+ years of top tier law firm experience focused on corporate law / transactional matters required, life sciences experience a plus
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York preferred)
- Strong practical business judgment, including the ability to understand the business implications of legal issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels in a tight knit but rapidly growing organization
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines simultaneously with a willingness to roll up their sleeves
- Pride in all aspects of their work and desire to take ownership of issues and matters from start to finish

- This is an opportunity to join a growing disruptive baby nutrition company reporting directly to Chief Legal Officer as an attorney in the Legal Department
- This role is an exciting position and an outstanding opportunity for a strong, business-oriented lawyer to become a well-rounded generalist in-house counsel in a fast-growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial company

- The Corporate Counsel will serve as a key member of the legal team
- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this position will focus on advising the company on strategic corporate and commercial transactions along with intellectual property and general corporate matters
- Reports To: Chief Legal Officer
- Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts and interact directly with the various ByHeart business units in connection with the respective agreements
- Advise management of potential risks in contractual, regulatory, financial, and legal areas and propose risk mitigation strategies
- Assure compliance with international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the company’s operations and activities
- Assist the Chief Legal Officer in implementing, improving, and reviewing legal processes and procedures
- Liaise with internal R&D, Finance, and other corporate teams to handle cross functional matters that raise legal issues
