Role
Who you are
- Deep Technical Expertise – You have a strong foundation in knowledge graph technologies, ontologies and knowledge graphs. You understand how to model complex domains into graph-based representations that are both semantically rich and computationally efficient
- Experienced and Proven Leader – You bring 6+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, software engineering, or related fields, with a track record of designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems including production grade knowledge graph solutions
- Pragmatic Problem Solver – You excel at translating complex and often ambiguous business requirements into clear, scalable, and domain-accurate graph models. You think critically about trade-offs between expressivity, performance, and maintainability
- Skilled Engineer – You have strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python, with experience in building infrastructure, APIs, and automated pipelines to support large-scale data integration and graph construction
- Domain and Data Translator – You can quickly learn new subject areas and work with subject matter experts to accurately represent their knowledge in graph structures. You understand the importance of aligning graph design with domain-specific realities
- Collaborator and Influencer – You are an effective communicator, able to bridge the gap between data scientists, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders. You can explain the “why” and “how” of graph modelling decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
What the job involves
- Building and Evolving Knowledge Graph Infrastructure – Design, implement, and maintain scalable graph storage, querying, and integration pipelines that power downstream applications and analytics
- Modelling Complex Domains – Work with domain experts and analysts to translate real-world concepts into ontologies and schemas that enable consistent, reusable, and queryable representations of our data
- Integrating Heterogeneous Data Sources – Ingest, link, and harmonise diverse structured and unstructured data into a coherent graph, ensuring high data quality, semantic accuracy, and traceability
- Optimising for Performance and Usability – Ensure knowledge graph systems are efficient, performant, and intuitive to query, while maintaining flexibility for future growth and evolving data needs
- Collaborating Across Teams – Partner closely with machine learning engineers, software engineers and product managers to ensure graph infrastructure is aligned with both technical requirements and strategic priorities
- Driving Strategic Insights – Enable advanced analytics, entity resolution, and reasoning over the knowledge graph to unlock new insights and capabilities for our platform
