Who you are
- Long-term experience with NodeJS using TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, RabbitMQ
- Prior experience with Python is a plus
- Prior experience with microservices architecture, database design, SQL, and CI/CD
- High level of self-organization, ownership, and responsibility
- You don't just write code, you own a feature from first ideation to end-of-life
- A proven track record in developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field

What the job involves
- The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff. We're cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way, deploying excellence to keep Veriff on the cusp of innovation. It's a fast-paced market with many challenges
- We're seeking an experienced team member to join our Data Verification team as a Back-End Engineer
- In this role, you'll be a vital contributor to extending Veriff's new use cases, focusing exclusively on backend technologies
- You will dive into mission-critical products such as Proof of Address, AML Screening and contribute to shaping the platform that standardizes various registry integrations
- In this role, we're not just looking for an engineer; we're seeking an individual ready to take on challenges to extend Veriffs portfolio beyond ID verification. Join us on this exciting adventure!
- Designing, developing, and testing software applications or systems using TypeScript and occasionally Python
- Producing high-quality, well-tested code with modern abstractions and frameworks
- Deepening your understanding of relevant product areas, codebase, and systems
- Demonstrating proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering
- Tackling problems of moderate scope, crafting core backend software components
- Collaborating with other teams, incorporating and sharing innovations
- Conducting design and code reviews
- Identifying and driving changes as needed for codebases, product area, and/or systems
- Independently completing features, each with many tasks and milestones
Our take
Veriff started when the founder tried to access one of the worlds largest online marketplaces underage. He realised that, with some slight photo editing, he could easily break through their verification process. The company believes that identity is a valuable asset, and delivers real safety, protection and transparency to interactions online.
Veriff combines technical advancements in facial recognition, social ID, device ID and more into a SaaS model, that is easy to use and accessible to companies of all sizes. The service includes features such as real-time identity document verification, automated "Proof of Address" processes, and automated SSN Verification.
Veriff has continued to add to its offerings with new technologies and improvements. The considerable funds raised by the company in 2022 fuelled continued research and development, as well as enabling it to hire more talent into its team. Partnerships with the likes of SonoSuite, a digital tech provider for the music industry, indicate Veriff's continued expansion of its products into new markets.
