Company mission

To provide a robust, end-to-end solution that simplifies workflows, fosters collaboration, and seamlessly scales with the evolving needs of customers and partners.

Role

Who you are

  • Experience developing complex products for engineers or time-series visualization tools
  • A love of developing beautiful, powerful, and intuitive interactions and an attention to detail with every pixel
  • The drive to help clarify the unknown and work on shaping projects on the roadmap. We want people who love to have opinions on what and why we’re building
  • Excitement to be a foundational member of the early team building software tools to amplify the capabilities of remarkable hardware engineering teams
  • Interest in occasionally traveling to spend time with end-users on-site (e.g. rocket test stands, spacecraft clean rooms, automated manufacturing facilities)

Desirable

  • Modern technologies: Typescript, Next.js, React, Radix UI, Tailwind, tRPC, WebGL
  • Custom UI library: We have our own UI library built on top of Radix UI so that we can cater interactions and patterns to our specific use case

What the job involves

  • As a Frontend Software Engineer at Nominal, you will be responsible for architecting and building end-to-end features and tooling, deploying them to users, and ensuring they meet user needs with delightful UX and performance
  • Innovate at the cutting edge of front-end technology. Build complex visualizations, delightful interactions, and powerful editor-like experiences
  • Design and build scalable APIs using tRPC to power a low-friction user experience while fetching and transforming massive volumes of data
  • Help grow the team by sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new engineers

Our take

Whilst leading workflow platforms such as Monday and Basecamp are designed for general use, teams in more specific industries may benefit from experiences designed for their sector. Nominal has built a data analysis platform and workflow system tailored to the needs of engineering teams managing complex machines in industries such as aerospace and defense.

Nominal’s platform caters to engineering teams who develop, validate and monitor hardware, enabling them to build observability and control over mission-critical machines. It automates routine tasks and streamlines collaboration between team members, ensuring that all stages of a machine’s development have rigorous oversight.

Having only come out of stealth in 2024, Nominal’s path to market has been accelerated by several rounds of funding. This will be used to expand operations and business reach as it attempts to cut into a competitive market. With its target audience pitch well articulated, here’s to hoping the company can pull customers away from pre-existing, but more general, workflow and analysis platforms.
