Role

Who you are

  • Ability to mentor junior members of the team as a line manager and a coach
  • Prior experience working within product teams and with product leadership
  • High degree of literacy in experimentation methodologies and approaches with track record in managing this through a team of product analysts to ensure best outcomes for the business
  • Experience with formulating and subsequently proving/disproving hypotheses via robust testing & measurement methodology
  • Strong sense of commercial & product awareness that enables you to translate data into real outcomes for users & the business
  • Strong capabilities in stakeholder management, demonstrating the ability to work with and influence other teams as a data expert
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery or other data warehouse solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics or other web based analytical tools (e.g. Heap Analytics)
  • Advanced Google Standard SQL and MySQL or similar relational database language
  • Experience with Tableau; creating & managing data sources and converting complex insights into a digestible format
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Product Analytics Manager to join our team here at Bark
  • You'll be instrumental in bridging our Product and Data teams, ensuring seamless collaboration to drive data-informed decisions
  • Your role will involve developing analytics strategies, providing actionable insights, tracking product performance, and evaluating experiments to validate product changes by building strong relationships between teams and leveraging advanced analytics tools
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to manage and mentor our team of highly talented Product Data Analyst
  • As our Product Analytics Manager, you’ll have proven experience in Product analytics alongside strong analytical and visualisation skills
  • Managing our current team of Product Analysts and helping them communicate complex data into clear insights for stakeholders is a crucial part of the role
  • You’ll be a key driver of our Product strategy and play a big part in creating exceptional products to help enhance overall user experience
  • Owning product insight to support high quality decision making
  • Ensure best practices in ways of working between the Product & Data teams, including:
  • Approach to product experimentation from design through to measurement & decision making, including implementation of statistical rigour and outlier removal
  • Lead the discovery/development of any new tooling and/or skills growth for the product analytics capability
  • Define & standardise ways of working for product analyst
  • Ownership of the administration, uptake & usage of product analytics tools (e.g. Heap Analytics)
  • Escalation point for advanced analytics work from across the Product team
  • Utilise a view across the Product function to generate new insights, identify new opportunities & help drive the broader Product strategy with Product Managers & Product leadership
  • Manage squad of embedded product analysts which includes responsibility for hiring, coaching, development, maintaining quality standards, resource allocation, stakeholder management and support
  • Build a culture of knowledge & skills sharing across the product analyst squad & create opportunities for analysts to unlock additional value through deeper insights
  • Act as the link between product analytics and the central data team to ensure best practices are employed & executed
