Who you are
- If you love sports and their community building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you
- 4+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with a focus on scaling ML/AI infrastructure in high-throughput, real-time environments
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent) to automate cloud infrastructure for ML systems
- Deep knowledge of AWS services, patterns and best practices for resiliency, scalability, and security
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS) with a focus on solving real-world scalability challenges
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer, ML Platform to lead the next phase of scaling our cloud-based machine learning (ML) and computer vision (CV) systems, reporting directly to the CV Platform Team Lead
- This role is instrumental in moving beyond batch processing and toward real-time, high-throughput ML infrastructure supporting multi-model systems
- This is not a general cloud engineering role, requiring expertise in designing ML infrastructure and an understanding of the unique challenges in scaling ML models
- You will be hands-on, strategic, and able to guide the long-term architecture of our ML Platform
- By laying a foundation for scalability, you will directly impact our ability to execute on GameChanger’s long-term vision, enabling current and future teammates to thrive in a well-architected environment
- Architect and scale cloud-based infrastructure purpose-built for real-time and batch ML workloads, ensuring system efficiency and reliability
- Design model-serving infrastructure to handle high-throughput inference workloads, model versioning, and multi-model interactions
- Design observability strategies, ensuring model performance, system reliability, and infrastructure health are continuously monitored
- Collaborate with ML/DevOps/Backend/Security Engineers on projects, integrating new tools, improving deployment speeds, scalability, and resiliency to support their evolving roadmaps
Our take
The competitive nature of sports has always been driven by scorekeeping, and nowadays results are often consumed online. However, for smaller teams it can be difficult to provide this information digitally, as they do not have dedicated web development staff.
GameChanger provides a scorekeeping and statistics platform for sports teams to engage with their fans, that allows viewers to track the progress of a game in real-time similar to with professional sports. The company also embeds a live-streaming service into the platform to facilitate remote viewing, helping to increase audience engagement.
Whilst some sports teams already stream events on platforms such as Twitch and Youtube, most do not have the technical resources to achieve this. GameChanger has recognized this gap in the market, providing a simple yet unified platform for sports scoreboards and streaming, providing a fair opportunity for any team to maximize their community engagement.
