Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Vision / Data Science
- Proficiency in Python, scientific libraries, deep-learning and machine learning libraries, with a good understanding of software development principles
- Great communication and documentation skills
- Experience working in agile environments and to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable
- Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity

- We're looking for scientists who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are eager to deal with new challenges in a scientific environment which focuses on exploring how AI, ML and data can help to achieve the company's strategic goals
- You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy
- As a data scientist, on our Emerging Products pillar you will work on specific projects critical to Checkout's needs by fostering innovation and developing pioneering solutions that complement our core enterprise offerings
- Our goal is to explore new ideas and technologies, create products that meet the evolving needs of the digital payments space, and ensure our continued growth and relevance
- Be part of a mature data science team, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management
- Bring ambitious research efforts to fruition, leading to a rigorous production launch and monitoring of observed results
- Unlock new product opportunities by leveraging new technologies and exploring new applications
- Stay up-to-date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies used by Checkout

The payments industry has exploded in the last decade as eCommerce continues to grow as the use of cash falls. Checkout.com are building the go-to platform for all things related to payments, such as accepting transactions, processing them and detecting fraud. They've secured a steady stream of funding from top investors like Tiger Global Management, and are the strategic payments partner for some of the best known fast-moving brands globally such as Patreon, Dashlane, Udacity, Wise, Sony Electronics, and Klarna.
They focus on large merchants and try to make their product as customisable as possible, so that companies integrate Checkout.com as an infrastructure partner in their product. This increases the stickiness of the product and creates many opportunities for them to generate revenue.
