Role
Who you are
- 1-2 years of experience in data engineering, along with project management experience or demonstrated skills
- Project coordination experience working with technical teams or cross-functional groups
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python (preferred)
- Database Management: General SQL knowledge (we mostly use MySQL and BigQuery)
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure (we use Google Cloud Platform)
- API Integration: Basic understanding of REST APIs and their use in data integration
- Workflow Orchestration: Basic knowledge of (or ability to grasp) tools like Prefect, Airflow, GitHub Actions
- Team Facilitation: Ability to coordinate and facilitate discussions between technical teams
- Resource Management: Skills in identifying and mobilizing appropriate technical resources for project needs
- Process Management: Understanding of project lifecycle management and ability to track multiple workstreams
- Documentation Skills: Strong ability to read, analyze, and create technical documentation
- Problem-Solving: Proactive attitude with strong analytical thinking and ability to investigate and resolve technical issues collaboratively
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders

What the job involves

- The mission of DoubleVerify Scibids is to provide media buyers with fully automated buying strategies for their campaigns, leading to unparalleled performances for a minimum of human work
- The Data Engineering team is at the core of the Scibids products, and is responsible for communication between Scibids and its partners
- This role combines technical data engineering expertise with project management capabilities to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams and drive successful project outcomes
- Creation of ETL jobs to make our partners' data available to other teams, handling diverse data sources, including APIs and files in CSV, Avro, or Parquet format with several million rows
- Technical implementation and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure
- Cross-functional Team Leadership: Facilitate collaboration between technical teams, including infrastructure, data science, security, and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions
- Problem-Solving Facilitation: Work with technical teams to analyze complex challenges, facilitate brainstorming sessions, and guide teams through systematic problem-solving approaches
- Stakeholder Coordination: Identify and bring together the right technical experts and resources for specific projects, ensuring optimal team composition for project success
- Project Planning & Execution: Support implementation of small-scale migrations, updates, and infrastructure changes while ensuring smooth project execution and timeline adherence
- Technical Documentation Review: Analyze and review technical specifications, requirements documents, and project documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Compliance Oversight: Contribute to automated compliance and security initiatives, monitor audit logs, and support penetration testing activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Process Documentation: Maintain project documentation, track progress, and ensure knowledge transfer across teams
- Serve as a liaison between multiple teams, coordinating work streams and ensuring alignment on project objectives
- Build tailored automation solutions that enhance team efficiency and reduce manual work
- Monitor project risks and proactively address potential issues before they impact deliverables

The importance of digital advertising continues to grow, but it can be difficult for companies to protect their brand identity online. DoubleVerify solves this problem using software that monitors campaign performance in real-time.
Since it was first launched, DoubleVerify has successfully carved out an impressive market share, and now boasts customers such as digital advertising giant Facebook as long-time customers. Its success is largely owed to the quality of its technology, which far outperforms that of its rivals. DoubleVerify has consolidated its success by expanding the range of languages its tools support. It has also expanded into new markets such as Australia and New Zealand, a key indicator of the company’s continued growth.
The digital ad space is changing constantly, and DoubleVerify will need to remain as agile and adaptive as it is at present in order to compete with rivals such as Tremor and Quantcast. But with a 2021 IPO, several recent rounds of funding and new product releases, it looks set to tackle its competitors head on and stay ahead of the game.
