Who you are
- A passion for mobile software development and a drive to build reliable, consumer-facing products
- Knowledge of building simple Android apps using Kotlin
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating third-party APIs into mobile applications
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in using Git/GitHub for version control
- Past summer internship experience, ideally in consumer software companies
- B.S., or MS., in Computer Science or related field
Desirable
- Experience or interest in customer identity experience
- Other mobile (iOS/Swift) or web (React/TypeScript) development experience
- Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
What the job involves
- We’re seeking recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates in Computer Science or related fields who are passionate about making digital living safer and more seamless for all. This position is for a 2025 start
- With a consumer-first mindset, we rapidly iterate and experiment to build the best products for our users. You’ll collaborate across teams, including Product, Design, and Research, where open communication and cross-functional teamwork are key to our success
- Develop and deliver highly scalable software that powers the daily digital experiences of millions of users across mobile and desktop platforms
- Drive the evaluation, development, and roll-out of new features in our Android app, while learning from experienced engineers in an open, supportive environment
- Maintain high programming standards by participating in code reviews, writing tests, and ensuring software quality and reliability throughout the development lifecycle
- Contribute to design discussions with cross-functional teams, sharing ideas that help shape product roadmaps and user experience
Our take
Okta started off as an identity company where organisations, large and small, could tap into the company to have a single sign-on interface to access all cloud applications now centralised. Okta has since expanded to provide identity management at the device as well as the server level.
The new approach towards network security is increasingly based on identification and authentication, and Okta is on track to become the go-to vendor in the space. They aim to do so by developing products that enable people to access applications and other tools more smoothly and securely than ever before.
Okta has taken strides towards expansion through significant employee growth and shuffling executive leadership. The company has also made lateral moves such as tackling governance concerns, opening up new paths for revenue.
