Role
Who you are
- We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are excited to take on challenges and value making a difference in their day-to-day work
- Higher-level qualification (Degree or higher) in life science, software development or business (or equivalent industry experience)
- Solid understanding or work experience in software development and professional software services
- Work experience as a Product Manager in a software company (SaaS or equivalent) would be highly desirable
- Working knowledge of the Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical industry
- Experience working in an Agile environment with a range of SDLC’s and methods such as Agile/Waterfall
- Proficient in standard computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with GLP regulations or software will be ‘a distinct advantage.’
- Understanding of the basic principles of pathology and digital pathology would be highly regarded
- You will be coachable and have a passion for new ideas while being able to get results under tough conditions
- You possess good presentation skills and be confident to present at all levels from the end user to C-Suite
- You have the creative & professional skills needed to organise and prepare for attendance & presentation at CustomerEngagements / Industry forums
- You will have shown leadership skills in previous positions and are keen to develop these skills further
- You bring a sense of urgency to the work that you do and are able to execute on tasks by using your initiative
- You enjoy innovating and bringing new ideas to the table
- You like to have autonomy in your role and the independence to manage your own time and workload

What the job involves
- As a Product Manager, you will drive the end-to-end process of delivering innovative products and services, from requirements gathering to market launch
- You will maintain and prioritise product roadmaps aligned with customer needs, market trends, and strategic goals
- Collaborating closely with R&D, commercial, and test teams, you will oversee release cycles, ensure rigorous validation within our SDLC, and champion Voice of Customer (VOC) activities to inform product direction
- This role also involves regulatory compliance oversight, cross-functional communication, and support for product launches, ensuring our offerings meet the highest standards in regulated and GLP environments
- Oversee the end to end process for new product / service delivery to market, from requirements gathering through to commercial enablement
- Maintain a clear, prioritised roadmap for products and services that aligns to customer, market and strategic business requirements
- Facilitate regular cross-stakeholder communication on project statuses, risks & mitigations
- Maintain close relationships with commercial, R&D & test teams to ensure planned product & service release cycles re delivered to plan
- Support all aspects of verification & validation with in our SDLC
- Champion structured requirements gathering through VOC activities including direct customer engagement, industry forum participation and market intelligence / trends
- Work closely with end users to ensure product and service capabilities align to their communicated needs
- Support the development of customer support materials, including user manuals and other customer training materials
- Support the commercial team via Product Launch Excellence to ensure they are suitably equipped & enabled to offer Deciphex products and services in the field
- Maintain knowledge & awareness of regulatory requirements and trends in Digital Pathology for Deciphex products being sold into regulated or GLP environments
- Complete all mandatory company training and job-specific training required for the role, including ISMS, GLP, DocuSign, SDLC as applicable
- Other duties as required from time to time
- This position will require remote collaboration with associates on European and US time zones; on occasion, support for Japanese time zone will be required
Our take
Pathologists are the core of diagnostics, but have been under increasing pressure in recent years with cancer cases rising, diagnostic complexity increasing, and the number of pathologists in decline. This systemic strain has meant turnaround times for diagnoses are longer, and the chance of diagnostic error is higher. Deciphex is looking to help address this, starting with its flagship regulated non-clinical pathology platform Patholytix.
Deciphex has institutional and headline support, is supported as a High Potential Startup by Ireland, has collaborated with AstraZeneca and Janssen, and participates in a research program with pharmaceutical company Charles River. Reports suggest the platform has seen impressive uptake in the preclinical sector, so in spite of being relatively young this specialist niche is in high demand.
This all means Deciphex is in a strong position to keep expanding out its suite of tools and platforms and, with Ireland’s lively and well-funded MedTech scene, the company has found no problems securing financial support. Its latest round of funding will go towards increasing headcount and expanding its presence across territories, as well as fuelling further research and development.
