Role
Who you are
- Minimum 2 year of experience in a GTM (business/commercial) function
- Demonstrated expertise in partnership & business development motions
- Previous experience with paid marketing activations
- Experience in and passion for the startup ecosystem
- A builder mindset
Desirable
- Former founder of a tech startup or first sales/marketing hire at an early-stage venture
- Track record of interacting with startup founders, VC firms, and incubators
- Previous experience with events management
- Business fluency in German
What the job involves
- The Startup Program Manager is responsible for driving the growth and adoption of Notion within startups in the EMEA ecosystem and will report to our Community and Startup Marketing Lead - as part of our Regional EMEA Marketing team
- By leveraging effective sales, partnerships and relationship-building skills, these efforts directly contribute to the growth of Notion within the startup community
- This is a contractor role
- The mission timeline will be March 2025 until January 2026
- Partnership - Acquire and onboard new partners and nurture relationship with existing ones
- Business development - Build and execute compelling outreach campaigns
- Paid marketing - Pilot paid sponsorship activations
- Events management - Provide logistical support to enable startup events
- Reporting - Provide regular reporting and recommendations to optimize our growth efforts
Our take
Managing busy workflows using fragmented systems can be a headache for both individuals and businesses. Notion aims to combat this problem by enabling users to work from one central hub, customizing their workflows to suit their exact needs. This includes managing files, scheduling tasks, saving documents, writing to-do-lists, and setting reminders.
The company counts enterprise companies such as McDonald’s, The Wall Street Journal, Verizon, Samsung, and IBM as its customers. In spite of economic uncertainty, Notion reached a $2 billion valuation in 2020, helped by record signups as more people were forced to work from home. Its value has since risen to over 5 times this value, an impressive reflection of its success.
The company has made a number of strategic acquisitions that, coupled with its enormous market value and enviable customer list, have Notion well-placed to continue dominating the market. That being said, the launch of Microsoft-built competitor Loop at the end of 2023 will put Notion's market dominance to the test.
