Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional experience in mobile development, with at least 3+ years of React Native experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and deep understanding of React Native architecture
- Hands-on experience with Expo, including managed workflow, EAS Build, OTA updates, and deep linking
- Experience with native iOS and/or Android development (Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java) is a plus
- Familiarity with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand, or Recoil)
- Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization, profiling, and debugging
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps (including Expo EAS)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for building exceptional user experiences that align with Mejuri’s mission to redefine luxury
- Bonus: Experience working with Shopify or building mobile experiences on top of a Shopify-backed e-commerce stack
What the job involves
- As a Senior React Native Developer, you will play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our customer-facing mobile app using React Native and Expo
- You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, high-performing experiences that inspire and delight Mejuri’s customers around the world. You’ll also help mentor and guide junior developers, driving best practices and elevating the overall quality of our mobile engineering
- Lead the development of new features in our React Native + Expo mobile app with a focus on performance, scalability, and exceptional user experience
- Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Implement and advocate for mobile best practices, including Expo workflows, CI/CD, testing, and performance optimization
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to peer reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mobile, Expo, and e-commerce

Our take
Traditional jewelry retailers often target men for gifting - in part to make higher mark-ups acceptable. Mejuri, however, is putting the purchasing decision back with women with its direct-to-customer strategy. Instead of releasing large batches of seasonal pieces, Mejuri introduces only a small quantity of products each week, which allows it to translate trends and consumer feedback sentiments into its designs in a timely manner.
Having accumulated millions of visitors to its website, it is clear that Mejuri has captured a lot of interest. It has released over 1,000 designs since its launch, has an impressively long waitlist, and boasts that a large portion of its monthly transactions come from returning customers.
Despite its online focus, Mejuri has opened a number of brick-and-mortar stores across the US, Canada, and the UK. The company's current focus appears to be on this offline expansion, as it tries to push beyond its biggest markets into the other countries it ships to, as well as investing in branding and the customer experience.
