- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social media management, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of related full-time work experience required, and 2+ years of admin experience managing messaging platforms like Discord or Telegram
- Experience with leading community-based moderators, or similar leadership roles
- Deep understanding of DAO culture, governance processes, and DAO tooling
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong resourcefulness and attention to detail
- Ability to showcase your infectious positive energy, empathetic attitude, and kindness in your work
- Familiarity with DeFi, interop solutions, oracles, prediction markets, and related blockchain technologies is a significant plus
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Community Manager to join the Risk Labs team. You’ll work in collaboration with our marketing team and alongside another experienced Community Manager, serving as the bridge between our core team and the UMA and Across Protocol communities. You will play a crucial role in building and nurturing a strong, engaged community of users, developers, and enthusiasts
- This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in the blockchain space and contribute to the success of groundbreaking interop and oracle solutions. Given our positioning as leaders of crosschain intents and our deep relationship with Polymarket, ideal candidates will be obsessed with all things crosschain interop, oracles, and the inner workings of prediction markets. As a member of our marketing team, you’ll work to create a positive, responsive, and engaging environment for new and existing community members and users
- Manage the functionality and moderation of our community platforms (e.g., Discord, Telegram) to ensure inclusive, welcoming, and productive environments
- Maintain a strong support presence to help users quickly and effectively navigate UMA and Across products
- Organize and host engaging community events including quests, AMAs, and calls that deepen connections and drive growth
- Lead and execute community growth campaigns across social media and partner ecosystems to raise brand awareness and member engagement
- Actively engage with users and external communities to foster adoption, loyalty, and advocacy
- Coordinate and empower a team of moderators, technical support contributors, verifiers, and other community-facing roles
Our take
Risk Labs is the foundation and core team behind UMA, Across. The company has set out to build a decentralized blockchain ecosystem, rooted in verifiable truth and transparency, making crypto more usable, accessible, and efficient. UMA was one of the earliest protocols to emerge within the decentralized finance sector and it (along with Across) is supported by the second biggest crypto network, Ethereum.
While Risk Labs itself has not raised funding since 2018, efforts have been made to raise capital for its other entities. These rounds have been very successful, such as Across' $10M raise in late 2022. It’s significant that well-known early-stage VC Two Sigma Ventures has invested in the entire umbrella of companies.
The company has nearly tripled in size since 2020, and remains focused on hiring as it is set to roll out new product launches and upgrades to its projects (such as UMA 2.0).
