Who you are
- A track record of significant impact working in marketing or growth teams at fast growing start-ups or scale-ups
- Best in class at managing Meta or Google ads (both is a bonus!)
- Impact driven, eager to have a real impact on the company, product, customers and colleagues and for continuous improvement
- Customer-centric, you can empathise and understand customers perspectives
- Use data and customer research to make informed decisions, and can iteratively improve performance through test and learn frameworks
- Thrive in fast-paced environments, comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to change in priorities
- Organised, accountable and driven - you’ll be self-motivated and not need (or want) to be micro-managed
- Proactive at identifying and solving problems
- Open to receiving and giving honest open feedback, and uses this to improve yourself and your work
- You don’t need to have experience in the world of clean energy, but we are looking for someone who’s mission driven, and has a real desire to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives
What the job involves
- You’ll take ownership of our performance marketing, creating ads and managing campaigns to meet growth and efficiency targets
- Collecting and analysing data/customer research to understand needs and behaviours
- Using A/B testing and conversion optimization to improve our ads, website and acquisition funnel
- Working with internal and external teams to develop new ads, content and landing pages
- Pragmatically support growth initiatives while maintaining a brand and experience that aligns seamlessly with the company's mission and values
- Testing new channels and tactics, focusing on efficiency and doubling down on what’s most successful
- Partnering with other teams to improve customer experience end to end, aligning your efforts to company objectives and targets
- Analyse key metrics and report insights to Director of Marketing and senior leadership
- Exactly how this role develops is largely down to the candidate, their strengths and desires for career growth. We’re looking for someone who is keen to take on more ownership, and is comfortable managing and supporting more junior team members

- Take-home task that evaluates key skills (2-3 hours) and a follow-up call to go through it (1 hour)
- Culture & fit interview with a cofounder to discuss your experience, motivations and working style (45 mins)
- Coffee chats with team members who you’d be working with closely (1 hour)

Our take
Sunsave, founded in 2022, is on a mission to make solar energy and battery storage accessible to the mass market by removing the upfront costs and providing a subscription service that takes care of everything - from installation to maintenance - so that more UK households can save on their energy bills.
The model is designed to remove the biggest barrier to installing rooftop solar and storage - the ~£10k typical upfront cost and long payback period - allowing customers to save on their energy bills from day one. This is wrapped into a hassle-free service, with installation, monitoring, and maintenance included, which also enables households to sell excess electricity and participate in the smart grid.
The green company has already attracted the attention of blue-chip VC funds such as Norrsken, the UK Department of Energy, and household name entrepreneurs including Michael Spencer and Stuart Rose, raising ~£11M in funding and growing to ~30 FTEs. Sunsave is the first company to bring the tied and tested solar subscription business model to the UK and in doing so, will build the next green unicorn.
