Brilliance is evenly distributed, but opportunity isn't. Andela exists to unlock human potential at scale.
Andela sources and trains tech talent on a fully remote basis, before pairing them with companies to help them build remote engineering teams. The company’s journey has been extremely interesting - initially founded in Nigeria as an African talent accelerator, it’s since pivoted to a global tech network and marketplace, achieving unicorn status in the process.
Andela’s shifting model is a pretty astute one, as the global movement towards remote work, as well as the wider use of freelance platforms such as UpWork and Fiverr, shows growth in the marketplace. However, the fact that Andela takes great care in matching engineers with companies in a more bespoke way, even at scale, gives them an edge.
The company began global expansion in 2021 and now operates in over 80 countries. The aim is to keep this momentum going by expanding its engineering network into the hundreds of thousands, as well as increasing its own full-time (albeit remote) employee headcount, with a particular focus on business growth, product development, and M&A.
