Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in channel sales, ideally within the technology or scientific research industry
- Proven track record of achieving sales quotas and business objectives through channel partners
- Strong understanding of the corporate/pharma, government, and academic segments
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Willingness to travel as required

What the job involves
- The Channel Sales Manager will be instrumental in developing and executing our sales strategy through channel partnerships within corporate, government, and academic segments.
- The successful candidate will identify, develop, and expand relationships with strategic partners to promote and sell Digital Science's suite of products and solutions
- Channel Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive channel sales strategy tailored to the corporate, government, and academic sectors
- Partner Acquisition and Management: Identify potential channel partners across various segments and geographic locations. Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in partner organizations
- Sales Execution: Collaborate with partners to create and execute business plans to meet sales goals. Analyze market trends and adapt sales strategies and tactics accordingly
- Training and Support: Provide partners with ongoing product training and support to ensure they are equipped to meet their sales targets
- Marketing Coordination: Work closely with the marketing team to develop channel marketing strategies and tools. Ensure that all channel partners are aligned with Digital Science's marketing messages and sales strategies
- Performance Monitoring: Track partner performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Regularly review performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations with new and existing channel partners to secure profitable and sustainable deals
Our take
Dubbed the Google Docs for science, Overleaf enables modern collaborative authoring tools for academics. Its primary product is an online, real-time collaborative editor for papers, theses, technical reports, and so on, written in the LaTeX markup language.
Despite being founded in 2012, it has experienced its largest phase of growth only relatively recently. This is partially due to an increased need for collaborative tools among scientists who are working in globally distributed teams, but also because of Overleaf's growing reputation as a sophisticated platform for academics. It passed the 10 million user mark in 2021 and has continued to grow steadily in popularity.
The company, in its own words, has entered a new era, and describes its goal as becoming the first port of call for scientific writing for researchers, students and enterprises alike. With a product under constant development and a large and enthusiastic community of users, it is well poised to achieve its aim.
