Role
Who you are
- Experience with MLOps system development, including experience of applying MLOps concepts such as feature store, model registry, model monitoring.
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as terraform.
- Understanding of the control and management of data products and machine learning algorithms.
- Understanding of the importance of market compliance and core regulatory requirements.
What the job involves
- We are seeking an MLOps Engineer to join our Algorithmic Underwriting team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and extending our MLOps system to enable Ki’s underwriting algorithm to improve effectively and efficiently.
- You will be working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to face exciting technical challenges beyond traditional MLOps systems. For example, generalising the MLOps system beyond conventional machine learning models to also manage the lifecycle of actuarial models and rules-based models. You will also have opportunities to propose, design, and execute initiatives independently and deliver on these goals together with the team.
- We're a multi-disciplined team and pride ourselves on being commercially focused, bringing together deep expertise in specialty insurance and scalable algorithm product development. Our squads focus on delivering high-impact features and we favour a highly iterative, analytical approach. We invest time in research and development, internally and with academic institutions.

Ki is a Lloyd's of London syndicate for providing capital and accepting insurance risks, and was built as a collaboration between Google and specialised insurer Brit. It claims to offer the fastest route for brokers to receive a quote for their clients on the Lloyd's market.
Now the company is closing out a big chapter with a bold step forward. After separating from Brit, Ki is now ready to operate as its own company within the Fairfax Group and it has also teamed up with QBE to boost capacity across 11 major business lines, so brokers have even more access to quality cover through its digital platform.
