Who you are
- We’re looking for someone with commercial experience who is comfortable talking with non-technical stakeholders and drawing out appropriate insights from data, and also happy getting stuck in using SQL for ad hoc analyses using our BigQuery data warehouse or producing tailored reports
- Experience of working closely with a sales team as a data product owner or B2B analyst
- Strong stakeholder management skills at both the individual contributor and executive level
- Working collaboratively in cross-functional teams of engineering, product management and marketing colleagues
- SQL experience
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Be based in the UK, Romania, Spain or Germany
- Be usually available for meetings 2pm–5pm UK time
What the job involves
- We’re now looking for an experienced Analyst to join the analytics team, to take a lead on distilling our data for identifying product qualified leads for our B2B sales team
- In this role you will have the opportunity to shape and build out a framework for identifying leads from our data, design and deliver polished data products for use by the sales and marketing teams, and also work closely with the sales teams in their prospecting efforts and renewal/retention conversations
- With an eye for design and polish, work with sales, marketing and product teams to design, build and maintain internal data products
- Uncover stakeholder needs, and translate them into design requirements
- Support internal stakeholders in accessing and getting the most out of the team's data
- With the data we already have, identify product qualified leads
- Work with engineering and product teams to enhance data collection and synthesis processes
- Share this output with sales and marketing teams in a form they are able to act on
- Elicit and understand stakeholder requirements and manage expectations
- Translate business questions into precise SQL queries
- Distil your analysis into understandable and actionable insights for other teams and stakeholders
- Via dashboards, reports, presentations and updating relevant teams
- In a range of contexts including project groups, management teams and whole company updates
- Ensuring a consistent approach across the team
- Help others understand our data, providing useful insights for their departments
- Represent the analytics team in meetings and presentations, and bring a data perspective to various contexts in the business
- Improve access to our data, and identify opportunities for using data to improve processes and workflows across Digital Science
Our take
Dubbed the Google Docs for science, Overleaf enables modern collaborative authoring tools for academics. Its primary product is an online, real-time collaborative editor for papers, theses, technical reports, and so on, written in the LaTeX markup language.
Despite being founded in 2012, it has experienced its largest phase of growth only relatively recently. This is partially due to an increased need for collaborative tools among scientists who are working in globally distributed teams, but also because of Overleaf's growing reputation as a sophisticated platform for academics. It passed the 10 million user mark in 2021 and has continued to grow steadily in popularity.
The company, in its own words, has entered a new era, and describes its goal as becoming the first port of call for scientific writing for researchers, students and enterprises alike. With a product under constant development and a large and enthusiastic community of users, it is well poised to achieve its aim.
