Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, design, public health or related field
- 4 years of experience in the healthcare industry
- 2 years of product management experience in the health tech industry
- Thrives in ambiguity with a bias towards action and iteration

- Knowledge of concepts, data and methodologies in Medicaid and/or healthcare data generally, especially when dealing with EHR and/or claims data
- Experience with managing a data platform product, and assessing infrastructure investments needed to improve data platform scalability
What the job involves
- As a Data Product Manager, you will manage the product roadmap for the analytics and business intelligence team, and the data science team
- You will oversee the common data model and metric library roadmap for the data engineering team, and align data roadmaps with the overall needs of our Public Benefit Company and its patients
- The Data Product Manager will serve as the key interpreter and interface between data engineering, analytics, data science, finance, customer implementation, and the healthcare operations leadership team
- Drive the product roadmap and function as product owner for Waymark’s analytics and business intelligence roadmap, data science roadmap, and common data model and metric library roadmap
- Facilitate agile sprint team ceremonies for analytics team (~3 staff), data science team (~3 staff), and data engineering team (~2 staff)
- Collaborate closely with Ops and development teams to articulate product requirements and acceptance criteria for Waymark’s data products and insights
- Collaborate with Operations team to define product success metrics (qualitative and quantitative) and measure them over the product life cycle
- Collaborate with Finance and Growth team to align the product roadmap with Waymark’s growth trajectory
- Identify and fix process gaps around execution, roll-out, and ongoing support of projects
Our take
Over 80M people in the US receive healthcare coverage from Medicaid (a number that continues to grow), yet care is delivered through a highly fragmented network of independent primary care providers (PCPs). These providers often lack the infrastructure and coordination needed to effectively manage complex, high-need populations.
Waymark is addressing this gap by building a tech-enabled care model that combines data infrastructure with embedded clinical support. Rather than acting purely as a software layer, the company partners with health plans and PCPs to both coordinate and deliver care, deploying teams that include community health workers, pharmacists, care coordinators, and behavioral health specialists. Allowing Waymark not just to facilitate communication (e.g.. between doctors and pharmacist managing a diabetic patient's medications), but to actively support ongoing care.
A core part of Waymark's approach is using predicative analytics to identify "rising-risk" patients, those who are not yet high-cost but are likely to become so without intervention. By intervening earlier, the company aims to prevent avoidable hospitalizations and improve long-term outcomes, effectively expanding provider capacity for underserved populations.
Having now moved beyond early pilots, Waymark is scaling through value-based partnerships with Medicaid managed care organizations, working across tens of thousands of patients. While challenges remain in translating proven models to national scale, growing alignment among payers, providers, and policymakers around improving Medicaid outcomes provides strong tailwinds for continued adoption.
