Who you are
- 6+ years of professional experience in web development
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, and modern frontend architecture
- Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and maintainability in large frontend applications
- Experience mentoring mid-level developers and contributing to their growth
- Comfort using AI-powered coding tools as part of your daily development workflow
- Bonus: Production experience with Node.js, Golang, or PHP
- Experience in digital publishing and with modern CMS products
- Strong ownership mindset, excellent collaboration skills, and comfort working in a fully remote team

What the job involves
- Minute Media is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Publishing Technology team!
- If you’re passionate about building web applications at scale and want to contribute to platforms that power Sports Illustrated, FanSided, The Players' Tribune, and more, this is the role for you
- Lead the design and development of frontend applications using JavaScript, React, and Tailwind
- Build and optimize large-scale, high-traffic sites serving millions of users each month
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and a globally distributed engineering team
- Contribute meaningfully to backend services and APIs (Node.js, Golang, or PHP experience is a plus)
- Drive technical best practices, code quality, performance, and maintainability across the codebase
- Mentor and develop other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and pairing
- Help raise the overall engineering bar by sharing knowledge, setting standards, and leading by example
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to improve productivity, code quality, and iteration speed
- Own and shape critical systems that power some of the largest sports publishing platforms in the world
- Work on technically challenging, high-impact problems at real scale
